Divorce Advice for Women
Divorce can be an opening for a new life for women. All too often, as women we make the end of our marriage mean something about us and we come to believe in those meanings and thereby dis-empower ourselves. We exacerbate the loss of self-esteem and confidence. We add to the sense of loss, pain and confusion.
If you re feeling like a failure, the operative word here is ‘feeling’
In the initial grieving period after a separation, we are thrust into painful emotions. We might indeed feel like a failure, unlovable, unattractive or powerless. But these are meanings we have attached to the event of our divorce, not facts. Feelings change and your feelings will not be the same in a month or year from now. Keep that in mind. Feelings change.
With hindsight, you will glean life lessons and deep wisdom
You will come to see yourself in a different light altogether. You will no longer be a victim. You will see yourself as having triumphed over this loss and regain your optimism for life, your self-esteem and your power. You will reconnect with what is important to you. You will get in touch with your passions again. You will go on to create a new and better life after divorce.
You will survive and thrive after your divorce
Stuck in the grieving period, everything is colored by loss and everything seems bleak. It is like being in the midst of a blinding snowstorm. We simply cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel but the light still exists. This too shall pass. You will survive and thrive after your divorce. All it takes is time and effort.
